Commodities specialist was invited to speak about Brazil’s wealth of agricultural crops and the country’s rise in food production
Nashville, September 22, 2023 – The journalist, professor, co-author of the book Mulheres no Agro and specialist in Agribusiness, Roberta Paffaro, will be the only Brazilian to speak at the 12th Women in Agribusiness Summit (Annual Summit of Women in Agribusiness) – largest global meeting that brings together the main women in the sector and will take place in the last week of September, in the United States. Roberta will address how Brazil is gaining increasing importance in the production and supply of food and contributing to the global economy through a wide range of crops – including corn, sugar, soybeans, meat, coffee and oranges –, in addition to discussing the challenges and ESG opportunities.
“We need to show the world that agriculture is the locomotive of the Brazilian economy. In 2023, the sector should account for 24.5% of our GDP, in addition to being the sector responsible for almost 30% of jobs created in the country in the second quarter of this year, according to Cepea and CNA”, highlights the speaker.
The summit will take place over three days in Nashville, Texas, with the aim of promoting business knowledge and key trends and innovations to participants, as well as helping women stand out in the agribusiness sector. The Women in Agribusiness Summit will feature 65 talks and around 1,100 women from around the world. Roberta’s talk will be on Wednesday (27).
“Being invited to an event of this magnitude shows how much women in Brazilian agribusiness have been gaining representation in discussions and contributing to the growth of one of the sectors that moves our economy the most”, Roberta Paffaro.
